Covid Safe dyslexia Assessments

Whether your children are currently in school or doing home schooling, I am fortunate that I can offer COVID safe dyslexia assessments at my home in Bishop’s Stortford. I have previously written about some of the signs of dyslexia that you should look out for – read my article on “Dyslexia Difficulties – what to look out for” here.

Located close to the Herts and Essex border, I am in easy reach of London, Cambridge and also conduct dyslexia assessments for children living in Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Kent. I am a a member of the British Dyslexia Association and PATOSS (Professional Association of Teachers with Specific Learning Difficulties).

I request that only one parent accompanies the child on the morning of the dyslexia assessment as part of my COVID safe protocols. I can assess any midweek morning that is mutually convenient. Parents can park on my drive and be escorted around the side of the house, where we can socially distance in my large heated conservatory at the back of the house. This room is fully cleaned and sanitised before every assessment. I request that a drink and snacks are provided as well as the child’s pencil case so as to minimise any risk of COVID transmission. The parent does not stay during the assessment, but can visit the nearby Tesco and Costa Coffee, take a short drive into town or wait on the driveway.

We will have a brief chat before the assessment to put your child at ease and then another feedback discussion after the assessment, where I can share some of the test results and discuss any dyslexic difficulties that have been observed. A detailed Diagnostic Report with Recommendations and Resources is e-mailed within 1 week of the dyslexia assessment.

Contact me today to find out availability for your child’s COVID safe dyslexia assessment if you have any concerns about your child, whether they have arisen in school or as a result of home schooling.
